Right ppl im building a new system and i cant decide on the monitor.
I heard the Illyma pro 954 is a great choice..but my system is gonna be heavily modded so i dont really want a boring beige monitor.

But ive seen a monitor called the Lacie Blue which lokks very smart but im not sure if its n e good for games as there isnt many reviews available..??

N E Ideas PPL...????

My friend has a lacie, from my quick glance at it it seemed decent enough...who knows though. At any rate, you could get the illyama or w/e and just get it professionally painted...

One little thing to consider, although flashy colors or black looks nice, it can't pass certain certifications since it cause extra eyestrain....

Hmmm...How can the exterior colour of a monitor cause eyestrain.....??????

Flame is correct

Purchasing a Black monitor simply to match your case may not be the wise thing to do, especially if you use your computer for long periods of time. Black monitors cannot meet the new TCO-99 ergonomic requirements. There are two major reasons why black does not meet the TCO-99 specifications.

In TCO'99 there is a requirement that the reflection factor of the front frame (bezel) of the monitor shall not be more than 20%. This means that a dark colored or black monitor will not pass this requirement. The contrast of a white screen image next to a black bezel creates eyestrain during long periods of use.
In TCO'95 there is no such requirement, although it is a recommendation.

Also back monitors use a plastic that is not easily recyclable. These monitors will eventually end up in a landfill instead of being recycled. Recycling is another requirement of TCO-99.

Would it b ok for games...cant find many reviews of the Lacie...??

Honestly I’m not that familiar with the Lacie products. They do not have a large market here in the U.S. from what I can see. Looking at the specs, yes it seems like a nice monitor, and I know some of there products come out of the same factory we use so odds are quality is good.

Ok thanks for that.

Think i may order that one....its seems the best that www.buy.com have and since they r the only U.S Store i can find that will ship to UK... Dont like UK stores as i would have to pay nearly 400 pounds here when i can get it for 250 from USA :-)
Shame more U.S stores dont ship to Uk.

I suspect however that shipping, duties and VAT will raise the price close to if not more than the 400 pounds you would pay from a UK reseller. This is why it id difficult to ship international.

Good Luck
