Hello all-

I have a Rampage Formula running mainly at Stock settings save the RAM clocked up to run at the manufacturers settings. Recently, I enabled the J-Micron SATA controller on this board thinking I might use it for a CD ROM, I ended up just leaving the CD-ROM plugged into the Intel SATA controller. Anyway, to make a long story short 2 effects began almost immediatly after enabling this controller.

1- Fallout 3 and Farcry 2 started failing SecuROM checks and I had to use published workarounds to run the games.
2- When I installed my new 4890 xfx extreme card (This did not happen with my Powercolor 4870) Games would just cause a computer reboot out of the blue after playing for 1 - 15 minutes.

I was recommended by someone here to RMA the Graphics card... nope, no go.

When I disabled the J-Micron controller, all the problems went completely away.

Any thoughts? Bad Motherboard? Known Problem(s)?

My Config
Asus Rampage Formula MB
Wolfdale e8500 3.16mhz Core 2 Duo
4 gigs of Mushkin 998559 RAM
xfx 4890 Extreme
Soundblaster X-Fi Fatal1ty PCI card with front pannel
3 WD 320g HD 2 in RAID 0
