Seriously c'mon people. it's like walking into a garage and saying "my car won't start, what's wrong?", I didn't bring it with me and won't tell you anything about it, but what's wrong?

I think its heat, i turned it on this morning and it worked, with the air conditioning its working fine but yesterday it was about 40 degrees c here so i'm assuming that was the issue.

Australia really sucks the balls sometimes on the weather side of things. Anyway I've had the air con on all day and the computer booted first go fine. But the problem is occuring again it just refuses to send signal after the first reboot. I'm not sure what's left to do, at this rate I am looking at paying someone to repair as I'm at a loss.

Battery's dead. Take this new battery, and then bring it back for an alternator load test. (It WILL fail that test, BTW)

You're lucky... Air con, still have power, you are very lucky. Here in Sydney its only 36c, but my circuits can't support air con, so its 32c inside. And my power is jumping around like a rubber ball ATM, 200 VAC to 240 VAC. (Thanks APC for surviving.) 80,000 without power in SA, almost that many in VIC. So far, not too many in NSW, but that may change tomorrow.

My 4850 is only hitting 62c idle, and I really don't feel like playing Crysis ATM.

Yeah i'm starting to think it isn't heat because it isn't that hot in here with the aircon going. Just means i'm even more at a loss though.

Break out the DVM and see what your wall circuit is doing.... Even new switching PSU's such as yours might get their knickers in a knot based on what I've seen here in NSW.

The PSU has been running rock solid all week powering a geforce 6800gt so I'm not so sure its the issue. At present I'm beginning to think it could have something to do with the motherboard. I might replace it with something more worthy of its parts and stick a decent core2 in it for my sister and let it run on its integrated shizzle.

A 6800GT is hardly a test of the PSU's ability. The GTX 260 requires just a little bit more juice......some of the 6800gt's dont even require an additional power plug, and if it did it was molex 80% of the time. The card only draws 23w idle and 65w full load with an overclock.

Found the F***ing problem, if the monitor is turned on when i power on the pc it draws to much and i dont get any signal. It would appear that running them off the same powerboard with a 100cm tv/monitor can cause issues. To think I was about to enlist strageestrangers services.

Thanks all
I love you tomsfolk

So the moral of the story was: Don't plug to many things into your power strip/surge protector? :)

Glad I don't live in AUS. I lived in Arizona here in the USA for a long time. In the summer we'd hit 100-115F and never had power issues. ;)

Methinks in Arizona you dont have bushfires that kill 50 people and cover half of a state, keep in mind we are only a little smaller than the US in landmass and we only have 6 states. Anyway new issue, when playing cod:waw it seems to stutter. Ideas?
