nothing like the new GTA IV, dead space, world at war, blacksite area 51, silent hunter 4, star trek games, star wars games.will a geforce 9600gt be better or not much, should I wait to get the 9800?
Not bad and comes with overclocking software. As I understand it, when the 9600gt first came out it was 15-20% less performance than an 8800gt. And I think the 8800gt and the 9800gt are basically the same card.
What we need to know is what resolutions will you play at? Number 2 what do you have in the way of a power supply? If you don't have a good power supply I'd recommend something like this.
The ATI 4670 according to the information available is comparable to the 9600gt in a lot of areas, nice thing about the 4670 is if you don't have a great power supply it should run and still offer good performance. But again, a lot of it comes down to what screen size you have and what resolution you will play at, as well as how high do you want to turn up the settings.
EDIT** Found this card on newegg, if you have a good enough power supply, may want to grab this card.
Good price and about the same if not better performance than a 9800gt, but when it's only priced the same as the 9600gt, sounds like a good deal to me.
With my 9600gt, this is stretching it most likely, but I'm running my games at 1680x1050 and it's actually doing ok. Although for that resolution maybe I should have gone for the 4830 or better, but it was cheap, hard to beat 85 bucks, and I've been happy with the card so far.
