I7 930 Overclocking

hi guys i have an i7 930 currently overclocked to 3.8 @ 1.16875 is the voltage good enough?
ran 15 hours prime95 and 100 passes on max of LinX (have a lot of spare time since i go to school )

a while ago i tried 4.0 using 1.25 ran prime95 and linX no BSOD or whatever but my temps were reaching 82C

@3.8 41 idle, 66-70 LinX load
@4.0 51 idle, 77-82 LinX load

my ambient is around 35-38

are those temps that bad?

i currently have Megahalems rev B push pull with CM R4 fans (the 69 CFM ones planning to switch to the 90 cfm ones)

Those temps are a bit high, you might want to improve the case air flow as well as the heatsink flow - upgrade the casing intake and exhaust fans as well.

70c max temp under linx, your in good shape, well within Intel's specs. Once you get the higher CFM fans you can try the 4.0 Ghz again, that cooler likes higher cfm fans for max capacity. As Mugz has already stated better case fans couldn't hurt also, but with that really high ambient it might not do very much for you.

thanks for the tips, are the coolermaster r4 fans good? 90cfm 19dba as advertised, theyre really cheap here and the only ones readilly available, i ahve the 68 cfm ones so is it worth upgrading to the 90cfms ones? yate loons and schythes are rare here havent seen one til now, so far with the AC on i ahve about 43 C browsing net
50C games
and 65- 70 C LinX so are those temps okay?

bought two CM R4 fans last night installed them

temps drop to 41 idle at 4.0 and 38 at 3.8
