New system advice

Hey All,

I've been looking at a new system. Currently living in Turkey so prices may not be relevant. I'm mainly looking at using it for some gaming ( assasins creed, WOW etc). Just like to know how this system looks to you guys. Any bottlenecks, problems etc...

AMD Phenom Quad Core 9500
AMD Socket 940 Vga + 16x PCI-EXP
4096 MB 667 DDR2 Kingston
500GB 7200-RPM Sata2
512 MB ATI RADEON HD 3650 128BIT DDR2

I would be looking to upgrade in 1 year or so..

Any suggestions or recomendations would be highly appreciated.

Welcome to the forums!

The 9500 has the TLB bug. Processors ending with 50 do not have the TLB bug.
You want DDR2-800 with that processor or better DDR2-1066 if you overclock.
Not sure what your motherboard or chipset is.
How about the power supply and case?
You also need a DVD drive, unless you have one.

I would recommend DDR2-800 (or DDR2-1066) even if you don't overclock.
The bug in the 9x00 CPUs should affect you if you don't overclock but still best to go for a 9x50.
With that CPU I would chose a motherboard with an AMD chipset.

get DDR2 800 unless you plan to OC over 3.6ghz then go for DDR21066.
get the intel e8400 or e8500. Nothing faster for gaming and it can easily OC to 3.6-4.0 on air
get a mobo with the P45 chipset
get the WD Caviar Black 640gb hard drive for an additional $10

I would guess based on your build above you are an amd fan. AMD makes great products but their current cpu's cannot compete with the intel core 2 duo in performance or value.

The motherboard is listed as:

AMD socket 940 Vga + 16x PCI Exp

The case is just listed as:

TechnoPC black case...

Not much help there I guess. What kind of PSU would be recommended?
