i have a dfi 790fx m2rs board. was watching a video when the computer shutoff quick. Tried to power on, nothing. Flipped the power switch and let the power drain out. Then flipped it on again. Pushing the button let the system live for a very quick second and back to the grave again. Took out everything except the cpu, the 24 and 8 pin power connectors. Nothing changed . Took out the 8 pin and the motherboard started with just the 24 pin and cpu. 8 pin plugged back in results in refusal of starting.

So the only way to get life is to flip the switch , drain the power, and flip it on again and hit the power button. But this last for .2 seconds

Tested all voltages, all were correct.

Antec earth watts 500w PSU
AMD 6000+

NO idea what to do now. There arent any beeps either.

psu was able to power 2 other motherboards

So to summarize it- the motherboard wont run when the 8pin CPU cable is in, but it does run when only the 24pin motherbaord is.

How long have you had the Computer, and maybe your power supply just overheated have you checked the airflow to it? Do you have watercooling? Maybe a water droplet touched your MOBO.
