Question about raid sizes raid1+0

okay so a 150gb velociraptor + 2tb 7k2000 hitachi + seagate 7200.12 500gb + something else

I wondering if A is that possible B how much space that leaves you with

these are all the hdds i currently have and i dont want to go out and buy a new lot if i dont have to which is why im asking

if this is possible how would this effect the raptors performance? im farily new to raid so im not 100% how it all works would such a set up even be worth doing?

In your case, each disk would essentially become the size of the raptor (giving you a lousy 300GB of storage), and would be the speed of the slowest drive. Not worth doing at all, imo. I'd install your OS on the raptor, and use the Hitachi for storage.

It's just not really worth having unless the disks are all the same size. You'd be wasting like, 80% of the space you would have running JBOD.

thats what im saying if i was to go out and buy 3 more velociraptors(all the same size) it would be worth doing. you sir shall get the best answer(though its the only one )
