The Corsair VX-550 is the best of all those PSUs.

Try without an audio card first. Most modern motherboards have decent audio.

G'day, fellow aussie!
With the Athlon, depending on whether you game, you might go either, HTPC = 4850e, gaming = Phenom X3 or Athlon X2 7xxx, encoding and rendering = Phenom X4.

Motherboard wise, you should go with the GF8300 as it is superior in almost any way.

aevmhas recommended a good PSU, don't worry about that =).

For a hard drive I like the WD 640GB models, but any brand will do.

For RAM it's quantity over quality, so I'll got with the cheaper model.

Also, you might wanna search on static ice before you buy a part.
