Pins on Hard Drive Snapped

I was unplugging my hard drive from another computer and the plastic piece behind the pins was broken off and jammed inside the Sata connector. Now I can't plug in my hard drive to any Sata connector. Is there any way to retrieve the data inside the HD?

  1. If you fish the plastic piece out of the cable connector you might be able to glue it onto the back of the drive pins again. Be careful with the glue - you don't want any of it to get on the top of the pins where it could interfere with the electrical connection.

I wouldn't trust this for normal use, but you may be able to get it working long enough to retrieve the data from the drive.
