2nd hard drive? Do i have enough power?
Jul 13, 2010, 4:19 PM
I have a 600 watt coolmaster psu, and am running a 250 gig hard drive right now, and want to put in a 500 gig or 1 terabyte for putting pictures, movies, music etc... on. My other specs are:
Phenom II 3.0 ghz
4 gig DDR3 1600mhz
ATI 4850 X2
250 hard drive
Do you guys think I am going to need to go up to a bigger PSU if I want to put in a 2nd hard drive?

You have enough power to add a 2nd hard drive. Hard drives use very minimal power and you have enough head room with your current PSU.

Today's typical HDD's use about 10 watts or less - some MAYBE up to 15.
