I would give some thought to a larger PSU.
The main concern is the amperage on the 12v rail.
But a larger one wont cost much more and possibly be more stable.
The firmware issue isn't with that particular seagate drive. However, I do agree with the WD HD. The 640G cavair black is tops in the 7200rpm category.
I gotta vote with others here and say I would not buy a Seagate drive.
This drive is a little more, but it is a very nice drive.

I'm amazed at the hate for Seagate around here. I've got 3 hard drives from them, one is 6 years old and still working, another is 3 years and the 3rd is a little under a year. I've never had problems with them.

In the past I always bought and recommended Seagate, but recently I have had a change of heart. I bought 2 1TB 7200.10 drives a year ago and deployed them in a RAID1 configuration for backing up my MacPro. Both drives failed a couple of months back within weeks of each other. The drives contain a lot of confidential data so I am reluctant to send them in for repair/replacement. Basically I have to eat the cost, leaving me with a bitter taste in my mouth. Next time I am in the market for a hard drive, I will NOT be considering Seagate.

It's not hate, it's caution. Seagate used to put out good HD's. Recently, they have put out some garbage with firmware issues, and bad read times. Until Seagate proves they can put out a quality drive, buyers should be ware. WD puts out quality/reliable drives around the same prices as seagate, no reason to go any other brand.
