I would give some thought to a larger PSU.
The main concern is the amperage on the 12v rail.
But a larger one wont cost much more and possibly be more stable.

Sick setup, looks great.

The mobo is actually pretty good, i've heard people have OCed well with it. Sometimes if u get lucky u can unlock the 4th core too.

yea go with a 600w ps and you should be golden guy.

That PSU is more than adequate. It is an incredibly high quality PSU, and has plenty of 12V amperage.

i would get a WD hdd, i heard seagate's got alot of firmware issues. Also, i think you can get a Xigamatek s1283 for a similar price atm.

The firmware issue isn't with that particular seagate drive. However, I do agree with the WD HD. The 640G cavair black is tops in the 7200rpm category.

That psu should be fine for the single 4870 card.

I gotta vote with others here and say I would not buy a Seagate drive.
This drive is a little more, but it is a very nice drive.

But the rest of it looks pretty good. The PSU is fine.

I'm amazed at the hate for Seagate around here. I've got 3 hard drives from them, one is 6 years old and still working, another is 3 years and the 3rd is a little under a year. I've never had problems with them.

In the past I always bought and recommended Seagate, but recently I have had a change of heart. I bought 2 1TB 7200.10 drives a year ago and deployed them in a RAID1 configuration for backing up my MacPro. Both drives failed a couple of months back within weeks of each other. The drives contain a lot of confidential data so I am reluctant to send them in for repair/replacement. Basically I have to eat the cost, leaving me with a bitter taste in my mouth. Next time I am in the market for a hard drive, I will NOT be considering Seagate.

It's not hate, it's caution. Seagate used to put out good HD's. Recently, they have put out some garbage with firmware issues, and bad read times. Until Seagate proves they can put out a quality drive, buyers should be ware. WD puts out quality/reliable drives around the same prices as seagate, no reason to go any other brand.

Thanks for the feedback. Ill take the advice on the hard drive.

I'm going to assume my power supply would still be up to snuff if I added a ssd and tv tuner somewhere down the line?

Should be fine, otherwise you can look for a 600-650W if you wanna be safe.
PC Power & Cooling is the best quality hands down.
