I'm a first time builder and I need some help picking some parts for my PC. I work in very graphic intensive programs and require high processing power and a good graphics card. I'd like to build a dual quad core setup and settled on the i7 as my processor of choice. I also intend on running Windows 7 when it comes out this Fall. I'm wondering if anyone can give me any tips on choosing a motherboard that will support two i7 processors and a fairly decent graphics card. Wide range of prices would be nice too, but I don't know exactly what I'm looking for. Where should I start?
Search for "Dual LGA 1366 Intel 5500 motherboard" as those support two Intel Xeon Processor 5500 sequence (i7 CPUs won't work). Most have PCIe x8 slots as that's what servers require for RAID controllers and high performance LAN controllers. A few have one or two PCIe x16 slots.
