Here is a build for around $450 that is pretty nice in my opinion. This does not include mouse/keyboard or monitor or OS. add about $90 to it for and OS.

Did someone feed you paint chips when you were little?
Almost everyone on tomsHARDWARE keeps track of well... um... hardware. We all could peice out a system in our spare time. We don't need some... person to tell us that they could build a rig for 450 bucks.

I would never waste my money on that either.

$60 for a Rosewill case + PSU? NO THANK YOU. I'd rather wait for the Antec 300 to go on sale combo'd with one of their much higher quality PSU's, Newegg has this deal now and then and it usually runs around $70-$80 for the combo.

DDR2-1066 memory? You kidding me? WTH for? The other week I saw a DDR2-800 2X1GB memory kit for FREE after mail-in rebate. On a system like this there is no difference between DDR2-800 and DDR2-1066.

If you're buying a video card then why are you wasting money on a mobo with on board graphics? Seems redundant doesnt it?

The CPU is decent. Of course I saw Frys.com had a sale on the 4800+ for $18 shipped last week. Much better choice imo if you're on a budget.

I'm with hairycat on this one... wth is the point of this post?

*rolls eyes* ...There's no point to this post. +1 cat. If you're looking for someone to get the exact same build you are so that you can feel fuzzy inside this probally isn't the best forum for that.

Here is the point of this. Amatuers can look and see that theses products are cheap and reliable! I am not trying to help the smart people here! At least someone is doing something for people who have no idea where to start!

So on the off chance that some goofball has no idea what he is doing, he might accidentally find your inane post while it is still timely?

If you want to reach the clueless, you might try to turn your head and talk to your neighbor on the short bus. Those busses aren't that big and so you might easily reach an audiance that both thinks highly of your opinions and has no better place to look for advice.

^ That was a little harsh in my opinion. It's not as if the OP tried to spam the forums or be a troll. He merely assembled a system and posted the specs; with good intentions... If no one is interested why bother?

Just a note, the Rosewill PSUs are complete crap and will likely blow up you entire rig.

Cheap is good, but you should be sure the parts that you recommend, especially the PSU, are quality.

It wasn't harsh. Lots of folks come here for advice or first time builds. They will ask what they can get for a certain dollar amount and the advice they get will be timely. The odds of a first time builder coming to this site with 450 bucks only and finding this thread in a timely manner is pretty slim. If he wants to help out people who need it, he should wait to find out who actaully needs help and what kind of help they need... not post dumb-@$$ stuff just to post.

+1 cat. There are articles on this site with $500 builds for the uninformed to learn from.

On the plus side, the OP did raise his post count by one.
