Can I use old Parts with a New Motherboard?

Hey can old parts (2 years old) from other computers work on newer motherboards like the DFI LP UT X58-T3eH8, I'm asking this because I'm building a new System and don't have all the money to dish put for it so I want to at least be able to use the MOBO instead of just waiting and then later finding out it was DOA, so please help. what parts do you want to move over? having those parts will help us help you. though in short
RAM: no
HDD: yes
CD/DVD drive: yes
CPU: no
GPU: depends on interface
PCI: yes
AGP: no
PCIe: yes
PSU: depends again, mostly with what cards you have and power ratting of PSU

I plan to move ram (DDR2), HDD, Power Supply is a Ultra X3 1600 watt, and video card i need to buy which will a 9800GT 1GB, and plan to have it in sli, now remeber just to clear up anything i got a 1600watt PSU cuz its future proof. so i prolly cant use it yet am i right guys?

you can use the power supply and the graphics cards ad the harddrive, but you can't re use the ram on a x58 board since it only supports ddr3
