Hello to all out there!!! :hello:

I bit new to the IT world so don't hold it against me.
Just have a few questions if someone can lend a hand.

1. Hot NB and SB using house fan to keep cool at idle. (room temp is 75deg F)

2. Sparkle vid card is boiling hot not sure if i am doing something wrong but it is way to hot.

3. I would like to be able to set my bios with stable settings and get it right but not way overclocked.

Here are my specs if someone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Just want to thank everyone out there that has been posting answers to those in need of assistance i have read alot of forums and the help is AWESOME!!! :bounce:

Hi N

You left out something important, case and case fans. If you know specs on the case fans please provide.

The only temps I see in your data are these:

Temperature sensor 0 42°C (107°F) [0x2A] (TMPIN0)
Temperature sensor 1 33°C (91°F) [0x21] (TMPIN1)
Temperature sensor 2 46°C (114°F) [0x2E] (TMPIN2)

Temperature sensor 0 50°C (121°F) [0x32] (GPU Core)

Those temps don't look 'too hot" at all. What am I missing?

OH ya the case/ case fans are as follow:

Open case (x-qpack ver 1)
1 x 120mm rear
1 x 80mm from
3 x 40mm hd bay slot

Power supply I also forgot is a OCZ ModXStream Pro / 600W

Reason for the lower temps is that the fan is right on it and lucky it doesn't blow away. LoL

Thanks guys wow you are on top of it...

Okay you have MicroATX Desktop computer case with a PSU that generates a lot of heat from what I'm seeing on the web. The only thing I can think of would be better ventilation. Replace the promo fans with good aftermarket high RPM case fans preferably with low dba, example see specs:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6811999122

A good aftermarket CPU cooler probably wouldn't be a bad idea either. Use EVGA Precision or RivaTuner to increase your GPU fan speed.

starams5,

Thanks for the input....
I will get some better fans and adjust the CPU fan speed. I have a Shuriken ver. B on the CPU right now so i'll see what i can get out of it.

I also had a question about the amp draw? The manufacture does not state whether it allows drawing from the unused rail or not. Is that something I should be worried about with the video card needing supposable 26A and the PSU I have only provides 25A per rail. Also is there something I need to do in the BIOS settings to allow proper power/watts to it?

This is a great help i am glad you guys are out there, allows for good wisdom.

Reply to Nue@HWStuff

You should be okay. Total 50A@12v=600w. Multiply amps by voltage to get the total GPU watt usage. I still would have went with Antec or Corsair.
