Howdy,
I have a Phenom II 940 on the way and a Gigabyte board as well. It has the 790X chipset: GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P AM3/AM2+/AM2
Looking online, the board says "DDR2 1066 or above speed is only supported by 1 dimm per channel."
I ordered 4 GB of RAM (two 2GB sticks). G.SKILL DDR2 1066
So, I'm wondering....
Would I get better performance by putting one stick in each channel, or by putting both sticks in one channel?
Will the Phenom II 940 run the RAM at 1066 native? I won't be overclocking.
Thanks,
-Nathan
