So using Speedfan S.M.A.R.T tool, apparently the load cycle count of my caviar green is below the average? The count is 194, and the average is 196-200. It has a "raw" report of "18589"
I've been experiencing a strange stutter in one of my games - is it possible that this is related? My harddrive reported no bad sectors with the data lifeguard diagnostic from WD, and I only experience the issue with one game..

Try running a SMART analysis and see what the report says. It will give you an idea of whether or not the drive is going to fail or in the midst of doing so. Post the results here if you need assistance deciphering it.

I know this is going to sound very stupid, but my technological expertise is not specifically strong in the department of hard drives. By SMART analysis do you mean a smart test, or the actual numbers like reallocated event count / load cycles count / etc?

That is my S.M.A.R.T status. The two items that are cut off are UltraATA CRC Error Rate and Write Error Rate, both with Value and Worst of 200, 0 threshold, and raw data consisting entirely of 0's

I think your hard drive is on it's way out based on the spin retry count and load cycle count.

Smart attributes and their description can be found here.

EDIT:
You may want to backup that drive soon.
