VGA:SAPPHIRE 100259L Radeon HD 4870 512MB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail - 185$

HDD:Western Digital Caviar SE WD2500AAJS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
Item #: N82E16822136113 - 50$

PSU: PC Power & Cooling S75CF 750W EPS12V SLI NVIDIA SLI Certified (Dual 8800 GTX and below) CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply - 80$

Case:Cooler Master HAF932 High Air Flow Full Tower - 160$

CPU cooling : Need advice on a good cpu fan.

Is there anything else i missed?

If this computer is being used mainly for gaming you need to consider building a dual core system instead of using the i7. You can build a system for the same amount of money that will perform FAR better in games than the one you just listed. You can save money on the processor itself, the mobo and the RAM and spend it on a better graphics card, bigger and faster HDD and more memory.

Just from doing quick math in my head it looks like your total is around $1,000. You can build a very powerful duo gaming system for this much money if you do not need a monitor/other peripherals. If you'd like some suggestions along the duo line, this forum will gladly help.

Just my opinion.

get the 1 gig version of that card and vista 64.

thats kind of an expensice case for "bang for the buck"

and any bang for the buck bild wouldn't include the i7 IMHO. you'd be better off stepping down a bit on CPU and up a bit on graphics.

you can save a few hundred with a P2 build and put that money into a x2 card instead. you'd be much better off.

well, i guess i am not going for the most bang for my buck. what i am trying to ask is there anything you would change without i significant price change?

honestly for an extra 200$ you could seriously upgrade a lot of areas. including a wb 640gb drive for an extra 25 bucks, 1gb 4870 for another 35 bucks, an extra 100 for a nice set of ddr3 3x2 for 6gigs of ram. But i am way more concerned where you are seeing the i7 for only 230. Please post where you are seeing it at that price

A whole lot of it TBH. I would slow down and make some considerations based on what people have said before you order this system. Unless you plan on doing a lot of video/photo editing/rendering you are doing yourself no favors by going with an i7 system.

like I said v64 and the 1 gig card. that will make it much more future proof.

don't bother with AS5, use whatever comes withthe cooler. if youre the every 1/10th of a degree type, AS5 isn't the top dog anymore anyway.

you might want to hold off a bit on an aftermarket i7 cooler as they are still coming out with them
