hello i have a laptop gateway 400sd4 and recently it was charging and now it wont turn on nor even charge. i connect the ac to it and the led wont turn on telling me its charging, i opened it and looked for a broken ac plug but its solder right on. i dont know wat to do anymore, can the motherboard fry while charging? when i pop in the battery the ac cable led blinks as the battery pops in the slot and the laptops led's dont do nuthen.please help.

yea..i tried it on my brothers laptop and it was charging it.

Then does the laptop turn on at all with power plugged in, but without battery inserted?

If not then you have a faulty motherboard. Take it to a specialised laptop repair shop (for Gateway laptops if possible) to have it checked out.
eBay is good source to find motherboard replacement cheaply. Use the part number (P/N) written on the PCB.

yea i doesnt start at all..i took it out..i waited and put it back in, and nothing..it was working two days ago..and right after i changed the hard drive i put it down to charge and now nuthen happens.
