Hello,I am thinking of buying a laptop. I would appreciate comments re:
1. Brand of laptop (I want a 17 ") that would be the best buy.
2. General comments about Windows 7. I see a lot of negative comments re installing updates. Are there other issues of significant magnitude to make one avoid Windows 7?

Well Wanda33,

depends how much u want to pay.Win 7 is fine, u see negative comments because people who are posting it have problems wit it - its probably less than 5% of the users.

I would get Win x64bit system, because u can use more memory RAM, it translates to more smooth system operations and win7 likes it and is taking advantage of it.

And also one major thing on laptop is SSD drive option or u can buy it by yourself too.. It is faster than desktop hard drives and on laptop it uses next to nothing in power, so u don't have to charge it so often and u don't have temporary freez ups and aplications load super fast...
