when i plugin my HDMI cable to my HDTV from my sony vaio laptop i get no signal why??

type "mobile" in the search bar. It should bring you to the mobility center. from there you can set monitor behavior.

IS the HDMI an HDMI OUTPUT?
Is the TV set up to accept an HDMI singal?
