Im using windoes xp sp2 and my wired connection in internet is dropping out

Hello... I'm using windows XP SP2 and I have a problem on my internet connection, It keeps on dropping out.

Need more specifics, do you have a router or switch ?
If yes, go to command prompt and "ping <address number>", to troubleshoot your pc getting to router/switch.
Have you checked or swapped out wires ?
Check Device Manager, make sure that the NIC Power Saving properties are not set to "allow to shutdown this device to save power".
If a router, go into the router and make sure IP renew is set to 24hrs.
