Extending volume question

Last response: in Windows 7

I have a 2TB drive and it has 2 partitions, one of which is in use for storage - family pics, videos, etc.
The other partition has 400G of free space, now if I extend the volume (with the pics, videos, etc) to bring in the empty partition, I won't lose any of the files I hope, correct?

No, you won't loose those files.
Windows just sets those disks/partitions up as if they are 1 drive even though they are 2 seperate drives or partitions.

you will need to delete the partition that is just empty then it can be added to the other drive.

Extending into free space should not cause a loss of data. However, it is always a good idea to backup your files as a precaution.

Good luck!
