I had a chance to sell my ATI 4850 for $80 and got rid of it for a GTX 260 Core 216. It came with a free copy of COD 5 WAW and a $30 MIR on Newegg. The total came out to $240.XX and I think it was worth it. Does anyone else have any overclocking experience with this newer card?

BTW, I have a 22" monitor

Can you share a link to the gtx 260 you bought?

why would you sell a 4850 for $80??

So far, World at War is disappointing...

Sold a $150 card for $80. But you got a 2-5fps performance increase, so grats.

Anyways, the original GTX260 overclocks better than the core 216, the 216 dosent overclock much at all.

I wonder why it wouldnt oc more its 55nm isnt it? The extra cores shouldnt raise much more heat, oh maybe nvidia limited the oc so it wont beat the gtx280.
xD

@ Spathotan
My little brother needed a video card so I sold it to him for an excuse to buy a newer video card. I got the card last year when it came out so I got my money out of it.

I haven't heard many good things about COD WAW, but it comes with the GPU so I'll give it a try. The offer was on Newegg and it expired 2/12 so a link wouldn't show the offer.

@ Invisik
I originally was going to get a GTX 280, but by the time I went on Newegg they were all sold out. I didn't think the price/performance ratio was worth it to get a GTX 285 considering I can buy another card and SLI for $50 more at current prices.

Its not a temp/heat issue. It just dosent OC as well as the base 192shader GTX260. L1qu1d knows more about this than me.

Its something about the stability with more cores. I would assume it might take more voltage with more cores as well.
