How big of a SSD do i need

i am going to get a SSD just for FFXIV and was wondering how big of one i would need not just for release but to last through expansions and patches your help is very much appreciated

Well, if you want to put the OS on the drive as well, I'd recommend something in the range of 60GB to play it safe.
