i agree with the OP, Tom's has too many ads, compared to when it was still run by Tom Pabst.

what happens to traffic as a website gets more ads ?

is there an age component to the reactions, where older viewers who are not used to so many ads are more turned off by all the ads ?

well use chrome then, it is the most secure browser after all and arguably the fastest.
