Hey guys, I'm getting a new Mobo & CPU, and I can't decide between two models. If anyone can offer there advice about whats more reliable, easier to OC, Awesomer :-P, etc It would be greatly appreciated. The PC is going to be for all the regular stuff, plus medium-heavy gaming. I'm looking to try my first overclock also :D

Can anyone give their suggestions?

Either Combo #1
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz - $167.99
ASUS P5Q Pro Turbo - $114.99 ($15 MIR)
GRAND TOTAL: $267.98 (Combo Deal)

OR

Combo #2
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz - $167.99
GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P - $114.99 ($20 MIR)
Grand Total: $290.89

I'm kinda a penny pincher, so is the Gigabyte board $22.91 better? :-P

Thanks in advance guys!

They are both really good brands but the ASUS has that OC edge ur looking for. Actually, I personally don't see the benefit in the Gigabyte, that makes it more $$$.

Hope this helps

What about the Asus makes it better for overclocking? If you're talking about that "easytune" or whatever it is, I'm not to interested in that, I'm a nuts and bolts kinda person, so I don't mind hopping into the bios and tinkering in there. Thanks for your help!

Ive never dealt with the turbo but I have used the regular p5qpro in many builds(including one of my own) - all of them work without a hitch. I also never used any other mobo brand than asus, but about two months back i built a PC for my brother using the budget ep45-ud3L and it works flawlessly too. But i still prefer asus`AMI BIOS, its just so clear.

In that case I would still go with the ASUS
