Old memory with a new mobo?

Hi all,

I'm looking to upgrade my system gradually but i don't know that if my old memory is going to be up to running with my new motherboard. The boards I'm after are either:

Asus Crossfire II
or
MSI K9A2 Platinum

The memory that I'm using at the moment is rather cheap crucial pc3200 400 DDR stuff, would this work as a temporary measure until I'm able to afford the shiny overclockable stuff?

You can't use your old DDR memory with newer motherboards that require DDR2 memory.

The memory won't work with either board.
Also, if you have an AMD cpu now thats in your current board with the ddr-400, it is a socket 939 or older cpu and also will not work in the new board.
