Catalyst 11.6

Radeon HD6850
Asrock 880G pro3 am3+ UEFI
Athlon II x3 445 rana.
4gb G.Skill 1600 DDR3
Im using HDMI output

I have catalyst 11.6 but every time i start up the pc the resolution goes to 748x640.
I can reset it back to 1280x720 but if I do that then try to run a game no resolutions are listed for choosing my full screen resolution. This is driving me nuts any ideas?

1980x1080 is the recommended resolution on your HDTV, set that and see if it resets after.

I also think there's a typo and they actually mean 1920x1080

oh actually no here we go, page 45 of that manual - 1280x720 isn't one of the supported modes, which is why it resets
also on page 44 they say
"If connecting to a computer through the RGB PC input, set the TV timing mode to VESA 1366 x 768 at 60Hz for better picture quality"
they mean vga there, but try using that resolution for HDMI as well.
