Is it ok/alight to move and handle your router when its on(power is on and working) Cause I know your not suppose to move things like a computer that is on or some thing with moving parts in it. Is this fine? I just put it on the ground from the table.
Hi, I accidently tripped on the ethernet cable running outside my room which is pugged into the Dynalink RTA1025W on my desk and onto the floor. Around 75cm drop. How ever I think the impact was reduced by the two ethernet cords, power and adsl cord. My question is does it matter if you drop your router and if you do on accident will it cause and kind of damage? Its working fine, but could it now be less stable or even loose speed? Do routers contain any moving parts? Or is it just a board contained in a big case.
Just a board, no moving parts.
If there's any problem (not very likely) they would come up in either 'Error Frames' or 'CRC Errors' (under WAN Ethernet port) values found in the web config setting of your RTA1025W. Or simply (partially) non-functioning.
