So I'm adding ram to my computer, currently i have 4 stix of 2GB each. 2 are Rendition by Crucial(bought these two first) the second two are Wintech(got them off newegg second)? They have different timings, using cpuz i found that

Rendition has:

Quote :

Timings table
Frequency (MHz) 266 333 400
CAS# 4.0 5.0 6.0
RAS# to CAS# delay 4 5 6
RAS# Precharge 4 5 6
TRAS 12 15 18
TRC 16 20 24

and the Wintech has

Quote :

Timings table
Frequency (MHz) 200 266 400
CAS# 3.0 4.0 5.0
RAS# to CAS# delay 3 4 5
RAS# Precharge 3 4 5
TRAS 9 12 18
TRC 12 16 23

so what would you recomend i set the timings to so they even out better or should it be fine if i leave my setting to auto?

If on Auto they don't default to 6-6-6-18, set them manually to those values.

I'm still having some issures where everything runs smooth then it seases up into deadlock and i have to reset. Do i have them installed improperly? I asked a friend if it mattered what slots i put them in and he said do it like this "DIMM 1 rendition, DIMM 3 Wintec, DIMM 2 rendition, DIMM 4 wintec. My DIMMS are ordered 1, 3, 2, 4. If it matters the colors go purple orange purple orange, should i have done what i though (rendition rendition, wintec wintec?) so 1 and 3 have the same and 2 and 4 have the same?

If you have an Intel based motherboard, then you have them in the correct slots (check your manual to make sure), but running 2 sets of non-identical modules is challenging. Try increasing the voltage a bit as that could help. Also run Memtest+ for several hours to make sure that there are no memory errors (though you can never be 100% sure).

Thanks again. I've never had this problem before, probably cause i never wanted this much ram. Thanks again.

I can't comment about your motherboard, but they don't mention what slots are used for each memory channel. If unsure, install 2 modules and use CPU-Z to see if they are in dual channel or not.
