Hello, I'm finally about ready to order my new i7 system but I've got a couple questions I can't seem to get a straight answer just browsing arround other threads, so I'll just ask directly. First, here's my current choices:

CPU - i7 920
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.151850

Mono - evga x58
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.151850

Case - Antec twelve hundred
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129043280

GPU - evga GTX 280
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130365

HDD - WD Caviar Black
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136283

PSU - Corsair 650TX
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005

RAM - 3x2gb Gskill
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231230

So, my questions are, is that PSU beefy enough?
Will that HDD bottleneck my system? I've heard that it's not that fast and might make my system slower than it could be, but I can't spend the money on a velociraptor so I'm not sure what to do.
Would the Antec nine hundred be big enough for this system? Does it come with fans etc like the twelve hundred? That'd save me a couple bucks on an already tight budget here.

Any other sugestions are welcome.
Thanks in advance =]

The Antec twelve hundred will be a much better choice for your system because the increased air flow will help with your temps. I7 runs hot and that 280 is a large card. I have the Twelve hundred and trust me you wont be disapointed for the extra cash. Personally i would trade that 280 for a 4870x2 they have one the egg for 450.00 with a 50 buck rebate. better performance for nearly equal cost. That psu is fine for what you have now, however if you plan to sli or crossfire in the future you are going to want to step it to a 850W. Your hard drive will not bottleneck the sytem the way you think, the numbers that are available wont be noticable in real life applications. It is a nice hdd for the money, if you get the chance grab another in the coming weeks and run them in raid 0 for increased speed almost as fast as the raptor. Also if you want to save a few bucks get this combo on the egg.

ASUS P6T Deluxe LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
Item #: N82E16813131346

CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TR3X6G1600C9 - Retail

It is currently only 434.00 with free shipping. That is 20 bucks cheaper than what you have now. The P6T board is great and has been reviewed very highly by many members of this forum. Also the corsair memory is better than the ocz you had selected.

Good luck with the build

Well the GTX 280 is on sale right now, just under 300 with rebates. Only reason I picked it, would've gone 4870 or GTX 260 otherwise.

Is the Asus considerably better than the evga, as the Corsair better than Gskill? I ask because I got the evga board in combo with the i7 920, wich gets 25 bucks off. I also heard evga has the best costumer support out there. No idea about the RAMs though not sure what would be better, more mhz with higher latencies or the other way arround. I basicly chose the lowest cost ones :S. Should I pick another one (preferably the same cost)?

Thanks =]

well if you have a microcenter near you there is a deal for the i7 for 230. grab that there and then the evga and the asus are nearly equal. you will be thrilled with either choice. as for the corsair it is 1600 compaired to the 1333 or the gskill and yes that will be better for you especially if you plan to oc the i7
