I'm seriously looking at this board - ASRock M3A790GXH/128M for a Phenom II x2 or x4 build. The most intensive 3D game I'll play is WoW, so the onboard vid. is fine, and in fact saves me some cash for more CPU power. This board appears to have everything I want for the right price (cheap that is). I won't be overclocking, and the machine will have plenty of ventilation.

My only concern is - with PC components, you usually get what you pay for. The last time I dealt with an ASrock motherboard is was in a Duron whitebox, and I can tell you everything, especially the board, were very low quality in that machine. Has ASrock improved? If I have to RMA the board during the warranty period, are they good to deal with?

Anyone who's had a lot of experience with ASrock products and service please let me know your opinion.

Thanks!

ASRock is the budget arm of Asus, so they have a simular RMA and rebate experience (or lack there of :D). Anyway the quality has been pretty good since the AMD64 days. Certainly less features and much less newb friendly than more expensive brands, but I like using ASRock boards for building systems. Anyway don't get that weird model with the 3 PCI-E 16x length slots. If you don't plan on using crossfire at all then just get

ASRock A790GXH/128M $91.99

It has one 16x slot and one 4x slot which is not really good for crossfire. If you think you may want to crossfire some cards in the future though then spend a few more bucks to get

ASRock AOD790GX/128M $99.99

I think they used the switch card on that one to save a few bucks from allowing it to automatically switch :D.

Thanks for the input man! If Asrock is a daughter company of Asus, then I don't think I'll have issues getting service.
