Hi all
Can any one help mewith this queery do you have to set jummpers on a sata drive when using it as a second drive on an IDE system?

I want to install a sata drive on my IDE system, I have the proper conectors and have enabled the sata in my bios. When installed if it works, I will install windows 7 on this drive and keep XP on the IDE drive

SHOULDNT HAVE TO...DO THEY EVEN HAVE JUMPERS.....ALL I DO KNOW IS THAT YOU DONT HAVE TO LABEL EM AS SLAVE/MASTER...JUST PLUG IN AND ITLL SHOW UP.

You shouldn't have to set jumpers on the SATA HDD (if it even has them), but it depends on what the motherboard sees it as.

If you can't get it to recognize, try to set the other HDD as SLAVE or CABLE SELECT.
