Yeah its my and i finally got tired of it running slowly, especially with only 256MB of vram on it, so i decided to overclock it a bit and see what I get. My card came factory overclocked so it already ran faster then the standard stock. I currently have it running as following (says RivaTuner, NVIDIA drivers say its 1MHz lower):

My OC

Core: 738MHz
Shader: 1620MHz
Memory: 918MHz

Factory OC

Core: 620MHz
Shader: 1355MHz
Memory: 800MHz

Stock 8600GTs
Core: 540MHz
Shader: 1180MHz
Memory: 800MHz

My actual question is how do I know if this will actually run stable other than testing it in-game?

Download Furmark or a similar GPU-stress testing application. Run it for awhile, as long as there's no artifacts, and the temperatures are within the acceptable range (check the manufacturer's website for maximum temperatures) you should be good.

What version of futuremark? Is the free version of 3DMarok06 good enough?
