Will this psu work with this videocard?

Hey, I recently posted a different topic and I had a 585 watt dual rail PSU, and it was getting a error saying it was not enough power. I found out it's because there's 19 amps on one rail and 20 amps on the other, my videocard requires 26 amps (9600 GT)

I had this one. 585 watt dual rail. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817339001&Tpk=hec%20orion

SOOO I bought this one 10 minutes ago. 575 watt single rail max 25 amps on 12v. ( one less amp then I need NOOOO!) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817170017

I just tried playing combat arms on the old psu (585 watt dual rail junk) with my 9600 GT and I got. BAD FPS like 8 fps LOL. so I exited so I won't fry my video card.

I am guessing even though the new PSU is 1 amp short of my recommended PSU usage for my video card it will work just fine.

Am i right?

BTW yes I correctly connected the 6 pin power to my videocard, made sure everything was seated right.. etc etc etc...

Thanks.

That`s not right at all. I was running n 8800GTS 640 off a 425Watt (2x18A 12v) supply wit no problems yours should handle the relatively modest power requirements of the 9600 easily, in fact the 9600GT should draw 61W at full load, about 5A@ 12v:

If you have any molex/PCI-E adaptors, try using that to power the card rather than the built-in 6 pin connector.
Or do you have a huge number of drives and fans and a highly oc`d CPU as well?

I have just 1 HDD 1 CD rom and 1 120mm fan and 1 80mm fan. I have an adapter to change from molex to PCI-E but why? why not just use the PCI-E it comes with?

Thanks for the response.

No I found out the reason why my videocard was saying it needed more power was because on my 9600 GT box it says it needs 26 amps, so no 5 amps is not enough. and even 20 amps is not enough.

I`m not sure, but maybe the rail powering the 6 pin might be faulty? Anyway you know the other lines are working fine and, as I said, the 9600 only draws 5A at FULL load, so what do you have to lose?
BTW, if this does work, I`d advise you to wait until the new PSU arrives until you load up the card, just to be safe.

There's quite a few power supplies that i would never use in any build at any time no matter how little they cost or what my budget was. Logisys is one, HEC(compucase) is another and Raidmax is a third. The reason is that they won't deliver the power they're labeled for and can fail with nasty results. Get a good quality power supply.
A good quality 370w to 430w would be fine for a 9600GT because they will actually deliver the power they're rated for.
