I'm kinda a noob and I was hoping someone could help me figure this out. I have Corsair xms3 DDR3 1600 ram and my mobo is an MSI 870A-G54 which is supposed to be able to run 1600 OC'd, if anyone can tell me the steps to go through to change it that would be great. I have tried in the bios and couldn't figure it out.

you have to adjust the bus speed. ram on most amd systems will operate natively at 1066 MHz, it will say 533, but you multiply it by 2. The bus speed might be 200 MHz, and then you have a fsb to ram ratio, say 3:8. 3 divided by 8 is 0.375, 0.375x533=200, and you can reverse it. If you want the ram to operate at 1333 MHz, the maximum useful frequency for amd systems, you would have to set the fsb to 250. Not saying you should, but thats a way to do it.
