I need some help with selecting a new CPU. I need to know what is compatible with my MOBO? What is the best CPU out right now, that is reasonable in price. I can spend about $100 to $150!

This is what I am running right now.

Tower--Ninja (478x260x540mm)
ASUS Crosshair 941 pin motherboard (Nvidia chipset board)
AMD Athlon 64 x2 dual core 5600+ 2.91 ghz
XfX Geforce 9800 GTX + 512 DDr3
4 gb
372 gb harddrive
Rocketfish 550w power supply
Vista 32bit

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

thank you

you can't get a that much more powerful cpu on that board.

yea the best you can get is the 6400 which is 3.2 and 169.00 on newegg. If I where you just overclock it. you can reach 3.0 probaly. but just save your money or put it towards anoth part like a hard drive or video card for future builds

I think the board is only up to dual core CPUs.

No correct my earlier post this motherboard can even support X4 Phenoms even thought they weren't that good of a CPU.

Heres one, I have no idea if its a good CPU but it gets good reviews. !
