780GM-A & Phenom II X4 940

I know that the ECS website that the ECS 780GM-A is not recommended for AMD processors over 95W. Their latest BIOS from 5/19/09 states that it was released to support AMD Phenom II X4 945,955. These processors are both 125W. An email to tech support at ECS yielded no answers.

Is anyone out there successfully using a Phenom II X4 940 on this board? I have read that it is hit or miss.

Mine worked when I flashed the bios.... But like you I have heard hit or miss some work some dont. ECS not very good
