Advice on monitor

Forum Graphics & Displays : TV Tuner Cards Advice on monitor

Word :    Username :

I am having trouble deciding if I want to buy myself a HDTV or a large computer monitor. It will be connected via HDMI to a HTPC, but my trouble is over quality issues. How much of a difference is there between HDTVs and a large computer monitor? Which would you prefer and why? I haven't had much time to do a lot of research on the topic, so I was hoping someone could help me out.

Thanks in advance for any advice or information.

If you can deal with the lower DPI of the HDTV then LCD HDTVs look like an outstanding deal for large monitor enthusiasts. They're larger, and due to economies of scale, should always be substantially cheaper than computer monitors, too.
