Supposedly this cheap 300W PSU can power a PC with 2 GTX 295s:

Yes, it does have the connectors for it, and you should read the description better.
"Supplementary Power Supply" does not mean this is all you use, it means you use it in addition to your existing power supply.

Last time I checked 2 6pin PCIe connectors was not sufficient for even a single GTX295.

No, it does not. And you should learn not to post anymore.

^+1. You need a 6 pin AND a 8 pin.

Looking at the GTX 295 is the surface sorta rubbery?

That's the same thing as above, except more expensive and has an 6+2 pin for powering heavy duty cards like the gtx 295.

Oh god, buying that would be a very bad idea. The reviews for it are crappy, and apparently the customer support is just as bad. Yeesh, what a waste of money...

Has 2ea. 6-pin AND 8-pin 450w and less than $100 US. It seems it could do 2x 295's. They Also have a 600w 2 5.25 bay one. I don't know of any reviews for them, but I'm considering one for my server/workstation machine, as I do not want to replace my hot-swap power supplies.

Well, if your PSU had two 6 pins (and you had the adapter for an 8pin) or 2 8 pins (usually in a 6+2 pin configuration), then you would use this to supplement the power on the other connectors. I suppose you could also use the 8 pin adapter on this. Anyway I will admit that it is a bit misleading since it can't actually power two such cards all on it's own.

Each card uses like 289w, and only 75W can come from the motherboards PCI-E slot, meaning the other 214W has to come from somewhere. Yeah that PSU booster can only give 300W, 150W to each connector, and two GTX295s will need to draw 428W from PCI-E connectors. Not happening.

It probably uses the molex connector to tell when the system powers on and off.

When I glanced at the pics, I thought it had an 8pin despite the description saying 2 6pin.
So, STFU, everyone misses something every once in a while.

Says the guy who told me that I need to learn to "read the descriptions better". STFU, really. :pt1cable:

Well, you could get a real PSU for not much more than that thing. Seems like a lot of money for no more than what it does.

There were quite a few people in the reviews saying that it did not power off with the system - that thing's a piece of crap.
