GTX 285 costs about 350 dollars and ATI 4850 x2 2 gb is about 200 dollars.

yer i just want raw performance diffrences

GTX 285 has 1GB of frame buffer, 2 4850's will only have 512MB of useable framebuffer. At 1920 x1200 this would become a bottleneck.

so i really should get the 1gb version

Two 4850's will give better numbers. They beat any single card/single GPU on the market. Their are also 1GB 4850s.

You just mentioned two cards that are NOT single GPU's. Totally irrelevant to my comment.

Once again...no kidding.

You guys are comparing DUAL GPU cards to single GPU cards of LOWER CLASS in Crossfire. Of course a damn 4870X2 is going to beat 4850's in crossfire. The GTX295 and 4870X2 are NOT SINGLE GPU CARDS.

Not to mention ALL of this is irrelevant. Hes asking about a GTX 280 or 4850s.
