2 DVD Burner/Reader
1 CD ROM
2 System Fans 80mm
Diamond XS71 7.1 Sound Card PCI - Amazing sound!
Firewire + USB hub, PCI.
250GB HDD
All this powered by a FSP (older one) PSU, 400W with two 12V rails. 18A on each. Is this enough for my system? Thanks. Also I might be getting a BD drive.
A single HD 3650 video card only uses about 52 watts and about 4.5 amps at full load. All of the other components will not draw that much either. You should be just fine with the FSP 400 watt power supply.
Interesting.....FSP is a manufacturer that makes power supplies for other companies. They are sold under various brand names.
Yes, they make their own, for example the FSP Everest 700 watt and 900 watt models. I'm just not used to seeing their own brand name psu's mentioned here.
They also make them for other companies, for example FSP made a variety of power supplies for Antec. Antec also uses other manufacturers to make psu's for them, especially for their high end. It's a common practice.
