Hard drive quit working?

So I built my own rig back two years ago. And it has always worked fine. And yesterday morning it worked fine. But when I got home at night the computer was shut down and it wouldn't start back up. And I don't remember for sure if I shut it down or not, but I think I did before I left. I though maybe it had a bug that deleted everything. But then tried to re-install Windows Vista on it and it can't detect the hard drive. All that shows up is BOOT(X:\) and it is about 35MB. So anyone have any suggestions? Did my hard drive just die or something?

Your hard drive may be going bad. Run diagnostics on it (use the manufacturers).

As far as the X drive goes, it looks like your install got partly finished and you're seeing the result of unfinished work. Run the diagnostics. If your hard drive is dead, get a new one and try again.

Okay. I ran diagnostics, SeaTools. And it can't even detect a hard drive at all. So did my drive die? Or the SATA ports on the motherboard, or the cable?
