Well, thanks to timely advise of this forum the new system is up and generally running well.

But, no audio - at least to the speakers. I'm running Asus M4A78-E motherboard. It has on board Via audio, and it is supported with a little GUI that Asus supplied for XP SP3. It is selected to two channel PCM digital out (only choice available to me). I have inserted the speaker mini phone plug to the correct female mobo 2 channel output jack. This mobo and BIOS support HD audio (not really sure what that means). The audio does work to the jack on the front of the case. Great, but generally I like speakers.

The speaker system I have is Boston Audio, model BA-7500G. It is a two speaker (Dolby 2.1) and sub woofer system. These speakers take a full digital input. The left and right speakers are of the "flat" BA design. Controls on the right speaker are, master volume, surround volume, surround balance, and sub woofer volume. The amplifier is in the medium large sub woofer. These speakers have been great, which is good as I live for loud clean music. These speakers date back to 2002. They are working fine on my old system - just tested them again. The old system audio card is a Creative Sound Blaster - selected to full digital out.

Any thoughts on this out there folks?

Thanks...
