so what's the difference between these two? There's a workstation type card i want to buy, but i have an atx case. so on the low profile card, is the metal bracket smaller or is just the board that's shorter?

Low profile cards are shorter so that they fit in small cases. If you have an atx case, either will probably fit, so go with the cheaper.

The NV Quatro low profile cards we use at work come with both full and half height brackets. In theory the low profile card your looking at should have the same deal. Might look thru an accessory list to see if an additional bracket is included.
