Has anyone here sucessfully put an 8' dish on top of their roof? How? I'm
renting...I can do it if I don't put a hole in the roof, etc..

I can't think of any secure way of mounting a dish that Huge on a roof
without putting a hole in a roof that doesn't belong to you.

And I can't imagine why you would need a dish that size anyway.
A 36" dish with a motor, will pick up all the FTA, as well as a lot of
scrambled stuff as well.
THOSE can be mounted quite easily and securely on top of a roof with
just Lag Screws, if that is where you have to mount it.

As far as what is available in your area, go to Lyngsat.com

WHAT you want to watch will now depend on the receivers, LNB's, and
other electronic gizmos you need for any particular feed.

He wants good C band reception and an 8 foot dish is about the minimum.
