Hi all,
I've just put together a new system. Specs are as follows:
Core i7 920
Gigabyte GA-EX58-EXTREME
Corsair TR3X3G1600C9
HIS ATI HD4870 IceQ4 Turbo
LiteOn SATA 20x Super All-Write L/Scribe
Samsung 1TB SATA2 HDD
Zalman ZM750-HP PSU

It's in an Antec P182, with 3 fans in the top compartment.

The problem is that it has intermittent power outages (like the power lead has been pulled from the unit) followed by an automatic reboot. I'm thinking along the lines of either heat or PSU. Any input?

Thanks
Cameron

That's odd... googled "intermittent power outage home built" and find this case of a gigabyte ex58 extreme ...
I'm also using a new i7 on a Gigabyte board... an ex58 ud5 gigabyte board with a Nexus value 430 power supply.

No oc for me.

I found the main power cord was not fully engaged in the motherboard... and hoped that fixing that was a solution, but now it has turned off again... as always, when I'm not looking.

I'm now testing on an noninteruptable power supply. Was previously on a simple surge protector... but that hasn't been a problem in past for other machines. I hope this works! Maybe I've got bad line quality, or this machine is more sensitive than others? (but why?)

Mysteries.
