Difference between gtx 260 and 280

how large is the difference between the 260 and the 280? Also, is there an in between card for nvidia, like higher than the 9800 1 gb but lower than the 280? Is that the 260? Thanks. Also,

There is a LARGE difference between the 260 and 280.
However, I don't think you will notice the difference on screen sizes 1600x1080 and smaller.
The Ati 4870 is also in this range.
Try to get at least 896 megs if you have a large screen or plan to keep the card a long time.
Next gen cards will be out in a few months if you can wait that long.

Well like enewmen said the difference is large but u wont notice much of difference in screens below 22"...
And the 260 comes wit 896MB default...
And about the 4870 consideration, it purely depends on wat u like...but the mobo plays a role in this...if u have a crossfire support mob, then its logical to go wit the ATI...but if u don plan to crossfire then the GTX 280 is a better option. But nt worth if u have a monitor size less than 22"
